Islamabad cancels health workers’ leave amid crisis

Pakistan's Health Minister Mustafa Kamal canceled all scheduled leave for doctors, nurses, and other medical staff working in government hospitals in Islamabad. He also ordered them to report to duty immediately.

KATHMANDU, May 8: Pakistan's Health Minister Mustafa Kamal canceled all scheduled leave for doctors, nurses, and other medical staff working in government hospitals in Islamabad. He also ordered them to report to duty immediately.



In a statement, the ministry announced these urgent measures to "deal with the crisis" in the capital.

The ministry also set up a 24/7 "Emergency Rapid Response Center," according to the same statement.
