KATHMANDU, Sept 6: The Institute of Engineering (IOE) has constituted a committee to review the fee hike at the undergraduate level in the affiliated campuses.
The Dean's Office of IOE of Tribhuvan University (TU) formed an 11-member committee under the leadership of Associate Professor Hariram Parajuli on Tuesday. The constituted committee has been asked to submit the fee review report within seven days.

Free Students’ Union presidents of Thapathali and Pulchowk Engineering campuses are also members of the committee.
The students went on strike after the IoE increased the fees at the undergraduate level with effect from the academic session 2023/24. Sulav Chapagain, the leader of Nepal Student Union Pulchowk, was on a fast unto death demanding the return of the fee increase.
The students protested after the IoE increased the fee to Rs 775,420 from the current Rs 313,000.
