Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, the association said, “An organization registered in India should take permission from National Sports Council, Nepal Olympic Committee and Kabaddi Association to hold the international tournament in Nepal. But it has not even informed the authorized sports bodies.”
The press release issued by NKA President Sunil Rajkarnikar has appealed to the players and the officials not to take part in the tournament. Different committees have been formed on Monday for the tournament to be organized by the World Kabaddi Federation.
Keshav wins in Bangladesh chess
KATHMANDU, Aug 25: The sixth round of the ongoing Ninth Grand Master International Chess Tournament being held in Bangladesh, Dhaka remained unfavorable for Nepali team on Tuesday.
Former National champion Keshav Shrestha won in his board. Keshav rated 2134 defeated Bangladeshi FIDE Master Animul Polas rated 2188 in the 42nd move to add three points in his account. Similarly, another former Nepal Champion Nabin Tandukar too bagged full points as he enjoyed bye. He has accumulated two points so far.
Likewise, the day could not remain favorable for the only Nepali FIDE Master Manish Hamal rated 2086 as he lost to Bengali FIDE Master Mohammad Javed rated 2204. Hamal was bound to face the defeat after he lost his pawn in the beginning of the match. He is contended with two points.
Similarly, 2106 rated Wilam Lal Shrestha too suffered defeat at the hands of lowly rated Abdul Al Safi of Bangladesh rated 2083.
Ashis wins Chess Week
KATHMANDU, Aug 25: Ashis Acharya bagged first position in the Himalayan White House Chess Week, which concluded on Tuesday. The chess week featured the technical training of chess and a chess tournament.
Acharya with cent percent victory added five points in his account in the tournament held in Koya and round robin System. Bibash Devkota and Ram Chandra Bharati with three points apiece bagged the second and third positions respectively.
National FIDE arbiter Gyanendra Khaiju and Manoj Ghimire conducted the training on technical aspects of the chess to a total of 134 participants.
