The event is being held by Indigenous Film Archive in collaboration with National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities while Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities, Nepal Women Federation of Indigenous Nationalities, and LAHURNIP will be partners of the event.[break]
Thirteen Nepali films from Magar, Tamang, Newar, Gurung, Rai, Limbu, Sunuwar, Dhimal, and Byasi communities and 19 films from countries including India, Bhutan, Mexico, Germany, Australia, Argentina, America, Sweden, Norway, and Cambodia will be screened at Rastriya Sabha Griha (City Hall) and Nepal Tourism Board auditoriums.
The feature films, documentaries, short films and music videos that will be screened at this year´s festival will be based on the theme of Transfer of Knowledge.
Golden Drum, Silver Drum and Bronze Drum will be awarded to three different movies as per the recommendations of the five-member jury except the Audience Choice award, which will be awarded as per the recommendations from the audience.

The films selected from the festival will be included in the NIIFF extension due to be held in 12 various cities in Nepal.
Besides the films, cultural shows, handicraft exhibition and food a festival are some of the other attractions of the festival.
