Internet connectivity in 10 wards of Bhimduttanagar

KANCHANPUR, July 12: The Bhimduttanagar Municipality has installed internet services in its 10 wards in a bid to make the Municipality information and technology-friendly.
The latest move is aimed at implementing government vision of digitalization and go paperless for the services to be rendered to the commoners.
Of the 19 wards in the Municipality that were connected with the telephone services, internet was installed in 10, shared Municipality Mayor Surendra Bista, adding that the Municipality has also forwarded e-information system.
According to Bista, works are underway to install an LED television in the Khula Manch within this fiscal year and in two other places-Gadda Chauki and Bhaasi in the Municipality by next fiscal year.
Viewers and service seekers could obtain information on the services and facilities provided by the Municipality while notice and commercial advertisements will be displayed, according to the Municipality.
Mobile apps launched
Meanwhile, the Municipality has also prepared a mobile application that provides information on the services and facilities provided by the Municipality.
People can lodge their grievances and recommendations to the Municipality authority through the apps. People can download Bhimdutta Municipality through their mobile playstore, according to Municipality's IT Officer, Binaya Kalauni.
Also, plans are afoot to make mobile apps themed 'Clean City, Green City and Tourism'. In course of digitization, the Municipality has also introduced electronic attendance among its staffers.
Meanwhile, a Drinking Water project at the cost of Rs 90.74 million at Shuklaphaant Munciplality-8 in Kanchanpur district has been commenced for which boring process has already begun.
As many as 1,700 households at ward 8 and 9 of the Shuklaphaant Municipality are expected to benefit from the Drinking Water Project as the rivers and streams here dry in the summer emanating drinking water shortage, said Chair of Ward No. 8 Bahadur Mahara.
