KATHMANDU, July 1: International flights have been affected due to bad weather caused by monsoon at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Friday monring.
Two international flights have diverted after they could not land at the TIA on Friday morning due to bad weather.
According to Gayatri Bhattarai, a staffer at the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), Air Arabia with Call Sign G9539 940 coming from Sharjah of United Arab Emirates which was supposed to land at 9:40 am diverted to Lucknow while China Air with Call Singh CA437 flying from Chengdu which was supposed to land at 9: 56 am diverted to Lhasa.
Bad weather affects domestic flights
Other flights including both domestic and international are operating, said Bhattarai.
Meanwhile, international flights have been disrupted at Pokhara Airport as well. All the domestic flights from TIA to Pokhara have also been disrupted, a staffer at CAAN told Republica Online.
In a total of 36 international flights operate from the TIA on a daily basis.
