Around 120 participants from Nepal, Japan, Germany, Taiwan, Romania, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and some other countries are participating in the two-day-long conference organised jointly by the Ministry of Science, Environment and Technology, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, Nepal Physics Society.
Professor Claujabhan Clijing, who had won Nobel Prize in physics, is also attending the international-level gathering.
It is said that this is the first time that an international conference on physics is being held in the country.
Addressing the function, President Dr. Yadav urged the participants to focus on developing physics, the main basis for scientific development.
Research is equally important to develop physics besides teaching and learning, he said, expressing hope that the conference would be a successful one.
The Nobel Prize holder said the state should prioritize the development of physics.
