According to Foreign Minister Saud's press coordinator Keshav Sawad, this will facilitate the passport distribution service.

After the meeting, the concerned departments were instructed to use the software and biometrics used by the Department of National ID and Civil Registration, according to the Secretariat of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

The service users have been taking photos and giving biometrics while making the national identity card. The MoFA has made this identity card mandatory for passports. At present, even if the service-seeker provides biometrics at the Department of National ID and Civil Registration, they are required to appear for the mandatory biometrics at the DoP for the passport.
