Inspector of Bhaisepati Police Sector relieved from duty over allegations of criminal gain

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Inspector Binu Kumari Shahi of the Bhainsepati Police Sector, Lalitpur, has been relieved of her duties following allegations of criminal gain.

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Inspector Binu Kumari Shahi of the Bhainsepati Police Sector, Lalitpur, has been relieved of her duties following allegations of criminal gain. In response to a case, the Kathmandu Valley Police Office in Ranipokhari, Kathmandu, has formed an investigation committee led by DSP Narahari Adhikari from the Lalitpur District Police Office.


Superintendent of Police (SP) at District Police Range, Lalitpur, Naresh Raj Subedi told Republica that there is evidence suggesting the possible involvement of inspector Shahi in the irregularities. He also stated that two individuals have been arrested in relation to the incident, and an inquiry is ongoing.

Inspector Shahi is accused of detaining a businessman and facilitating a transaction of 30 lakh rupees. She allegedly directed the amount to be deposited into an account registered under a relative's name, as reported by the police.


The investigation committee has been instructed to submit its report as soon as possible.
