The conference is being participated by more than 200 experts, including officials from the National Planning Commission (NPC), economists, financial experts and representatives from the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

"The program focuses on the potential for development of hydropower, roads and other infrastructure and identifies sources for the financing," said Shiva Prasad Poudel, coordinator of the organizing committee.

He elaborated that the objective of the program was to identify different financial instruments used in India and the possibility of adopting the same in Nepal.

As the program has brought academicians, investors and policy makers around the same table, the organizers plan to develop a report enumerating all possible options in arranging financial resources for infrastructure development, and submit it to the NPC for further action.
