Speaking at a media briefing organized in Biratnagar, officials said preparations for the event were at the final stage. “The event will be grand and different from the previous edition,” Nirmal Tamang, coordinator of the event, said. He added that IT experts will present 10 working papers in the seminar.
Santosh Dahal, president of CAN´s Morang chapter, said the event will also feature a special workshop to hold discussion on the prospect of developing Morang as a ´e-district´. “Ramon Magsaysay award winner Mahabir Pun will participate in the workshop,” he added.
The event will have 90 stalls, including 40 stalls showcasing ICT products, eight related to IT education and three Internet service providers. There will also be two food stalls and two stalls for government agencies.
Neoteric Nepal is the main sponsor of the event. Participating companies plan to provide latest gadgets, including tablets, laptops and desktops, UPS and inverters of different brands at reasonable price rates.
Info-Tech Kavre concludes
Midas CAN Info-Tech 2011 Kavre concluded in Banepa Sunday, recording footfall of 50,730.
Kavre district chapter of CAN had organized the four-day event that focused on exhibition of ICT products and IT seminar. Laptops priced at Rs 28,999, wireless projector, touch screen computer, smartphone, portable speaker, tutorial CD, solar lantern and inverters were the major attractions of the event. Software solutions promoted by some companies were also able to grab visitors´ attention.
The event featured 60 stalls showcasing different ICT products.
Meanwhile, stakeholders of ICT sector have proposed to develop Kavre as a ´e-district´. Speaking at an interaction on Sunday, Manohar Kumar Bhattarai, vice-president of the recently dissolved High Level Commission for Information and Technology, said, “It is important to use ICT in education, health and agriculture and the concept of e-village helps to incorporate ICT in these sectors.”
