MORANG, Jan 9: An Indian national was found dead in a room at the Eastern Star Hotel in Biratnagar.
Deepak Kumar Sah, 35, from Purnia, Bihar, was found dead in his hotel room, according to Morang District Police Office Spokesperson DSP Ved Prakash Joshi. Sah had spent Wednesday night with friends after having dinner and was found dead in his room the following morning.

Sah worked as a sales manager for the Indian textile company called Siyaram. The company had brought a team of 25 sales managers to Biratnagar for a refreshment event. After enjoying a cocktail dinner at the hotel on Wednesday evening, Sah and his friends went to their respective rooms to sleep.
DSP Joshi mentioned that when the others woke up in the morning, Sah did not and they notified the police. Upon their arrival, the police confirmed that Sah had passed away in his bed.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the team had food, drinks, and accommodation arranged at the hotel, and everyone had participated in the evening's activities. Police suspect that Sah may have died due to excessive alcohol consumption. Authorities have informed his family, and more details will be shared once they arrive.
The police are also uncertain whether Sah had any pre-existing medical conditions, but this will be clarified once his relatives arrive. An investigation is underway, and further legal procedures, including a post-mortem, will be carried out once the family is present, DSP Joshi said.
