Indian leader Sinha calls on Koirala

KATHMANDU, Aug 1: India’s major opposition Bharatiya Janata Party leader Yashwant Sinha called on Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala at the latter’s residence in Maharajgunj in the capital on Wednesday morning.



It is said the two leaders discussed a range of issues, including Nepal’s latest political developments and Nepal-India relations, during the meeting. [break]



On the occasion, Koirala is said to have told the former Indian finance minister that the parties in Nepal are working for consensus to end the current political crisis.



Sinha, who is currently on a three-day visit to Nepal described as his personal trip, has already met President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and former prime ministers Sher Bahadur Deuba, Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal.
