KATHMANDU, May 24: Police arrested an Indian citizen from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) with gold-laden clothes.
The arrestee has been identified as Nabin Harishlal Goklani, 39. He was arrested by the airport police at around 2 PM on Thursday. He had come to Kathmandu from Dubai.
During an X-ray scan, authorities discovered irregularities in the jeans worn by Goklani. Upon further inspection, police found gold concealed within the fabric.
According to officials, the total weight of the gold, including the jeans, is 1200 grams. Additionally, a gold chain weighing 40 grams was recovered from the Indian citizen. Goklani has been arrested and transferred to the airport customs office for further action.
