Indian Army returns after completing rescue mission

KATHMANDU, June 4: The team of Indian Army come for rescue and search after the April 25 earthquake has returned home on Thursday.

The Indian Army had arrived in Nepal within six hours of the destructive earthquake and involved in rescue and search of the quake victims. They had brought together the various rescue items.

The search and rescue team had 711 persons while 226 in medical team, and 334 engineers and 226 in air force. Similarly, it had brought together eight MI 17 and five LLH helicopters, according to the Nepal Army's Public Relations Directorate.In full coordination with the Nepal Army, the teams remained active in search and rescue of the quake victims, distribution of the relief materials, operation of mobile health camps and removal of wreckage.

The mobile medical teams had conducted joint health camps at Barpak of Gorkha, Dhadingbensi of Dhading and Charikot of Dolakha.

Meanwhile, Chief of the Army Staff, Gaurav Shumsher Rana appreciated the assistance provided by the friendly countries at this crisis. RSS
