MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, March 19: India captain Mahendrah Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first against Bangladesh on Thursday in their World Cup quarterfinal at a hot and windy Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Defending champion India, unbeaten in six matches in the pool stage, has retained the same lineup which beat Zimbabwe by six wickets last week.

Nasir Hossain and captain Mushrafe Mortaza return to the Bangladesh lineup after sitting out the team's previous match against New Zealand.

Bangladesh is playing in its first World Cup quarterfinal after eliminating England in Adelaide earlier this month.
