NEW DELHI, May 2: India's COVID-19 tally rose to 43,082,345 on Monday as 3,157 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours across the South Asian country, showed the federal health ministry's latest data.
This is the fifth day of daily new cases surpassing the 3,000-mark in number in the country.
Delhi accounted for more than 47 percent of the new cases while reporting 5,997 active cases being treated in hospitals and a positivity rate of 4.89 percent.

Besides, 26 deaths across the country due to the pandemic since Sunday morning took the total death toll to 523,869.
Currently there are 19,500 active COVID-19 cases registered in the country, an increase of 408 in the past 24 hours.
So far 42,538,976 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged from hospitals in India, including 2,723 newly reported recoveries.
