Hills facing landslides, floods in Terai


KATHMANDU, July 7: The country has been experiencing continuous rain since Friday night. Monsoon  is wreaking havoc in most parts of the country. Everyday life has been badly affected by landslides in the hills and floods in the Terai.

Due to continuous rain, roads have been waterlogged, electricity and drinking water services have been badly affected in most parts of the country.


Floods and landslides in the hilly area have damaged roads while the Terai is facing  inundations. Floodwaters have entered the houses of the people in many places across the country.


Likewise, the water-level has risen in all major rivers of the country. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned people to be alert as  water-levels continue to rise. Residents living near Bagmati, Bishnumati, and other rivers in the Kathmandu Valley are requested to stay on alert.


Due to the influence of the monsoon wind, the sky is completely overcast and it’s been raining continuously since Friday night, badly affecting everyday life.
