KATHMANDU, Jan 27: Nepal has officially launched the COVID-19 vaccination drive starting Wednesday.  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the campaign from Baluwatar. 


Nepal plans to inoculate frontline workers fighting against COVID-19 in the first phase.

The country has received 1 million doses of vaccines from India. Health experts have warned people with critical conditions to not get the shot.


Dr Sagar Kumar Rajbhandari, director at Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Teku became the first person to receive the first shot of India’s ‘Covishield’ vaccine in Bagmati province.
