Implement Nepal Sambat in govt activities: Leaders

KATHMANDU, Nov 6: Leaders of various political parties have stressed that Nepal Sambat introduced by the national luminary, Sankhadhar Sakhwa, should be implemented as the national calendar.



Talking to the National News Agency (RSS) on Saturday, the leaders stressed that the Nepal Sambat should be brought to use in the government activities because it was already recognized as the national calendar by the government.[break]



Constituent Assembly member from the Nepali Congress, Tirtha Ram Dangol said Nepal Sambat is our original calendar introduced by a Nepali. It would be matter of pride for all Nepalis if it was brought to use in the government activities, he added.



Also stressing the need of Nepal Sambat in the government practice were- CA member of the CPN-UML, Mangal Siddhi Manandhar and Nepa Rastriya Party´s Buddha Ratna Sayami.
