KATHMANDU, May 2: Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav has strongly criticized the Nepali Congress and the CPN (Maoist Center) for bringing the impeachment motion against Chief Justice Sushila Karki.
Issuing a press statement Monday, Yadav has termed the act of the two major parties of the ruling alliance as direct interference by the executive body in the independence of the judiciary saying that this would go against the norms and values of the democratic republic system.

Stating that the decision of the NC and Maoist Center is a planned attack on the supremacy of the constitution and the democratic practice of good governance, Yadav stated that the impeachment motion lodged against CJ Karki is a misuse of state powers in an attempt by those in power to fulfill their party and vested interests and influence the independent judiciary.
Asserting that the attempt to influence the independenct judiciary is an undemocratic act, Forum Chair Yadav urged the concerned bodies to withdraw the impeachment motion at the earliest.
