KATHMANDU, Aug 31: Imagine Nepal has been granted permission for the inaugural rope installation on the ascent of Mt. Manaslu.
Rakesh Gurung, the Director of the Adventure Tourism and Mountaineering Branch within the Department of Tourism, confirmed that Imagine Nepal Trek and Expedition Company has received the green light to install a rope on Mt. Manaslu during the upcoming autumn season.

Dawa Futi Sherpa, the operations manager at Imagine Nepal, revealed that this marks the first instance where their company has been bestowed permission to establish a rope route for the ascent of Mt. Manaslu.
"Our company has recently received departmental approval for a team of 40 individuals responsible for rope installation," she elaborated. "Among these 40 individuals, seven are skilled Sherpas dedicated to rope rigging, while the remaining are assisting them."
Standing tall at 8,156 meters, Manaslu claims its place as the eighth-highest peak globally. Following the spring period, the autumn season witnesses a significant surge in mountain climbing activities. Among the most frequented climbs during this time are Manaslu and Amadabalam mountains, drawing mountaineers from across the world.
