ICT Conference begins

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: The 17th ICT Conference kicked off in Kathmandu on Sunday. 



Minister for Information Surendra Karki inaugurated the conference amid a function.

The two-day conference is being organized by Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation on the sidelines of the Subisu CAN Info-Tech.

Speaking at the program, Karki said that information communication technology (ICT) was an important sector of Nepali economy. “The government is ready to work with CAN Federation for ICT human resources development and utilization,” he added.


Meanwhile, the fourth day of Subisu CAN Info-Tech attracted 67,308 visitors. According to the federation, 207,058 have already visited the expo so far.


According to CAN Federation,  the stalls of photocopy, printers, scanners, projector, attendance machine, router, CCTV camera, generator, battery, solar, UPS, laptops, smartphones and laptops, amongst others were the major crowd-pullers on Day 4.


Can Info-Tech has stalls of companies dealing on hardware sales and maintenance, power solutions and mobile accessories as well as Internet service providers, telecommunication firms, ICT college and training institutes, software solution providers and payment solution providers, among others.
