KATHMANDU, Feb 19: Nepal beat Malaysia by 34 runs in the opening match of the ICC Women T20 World Cup Qualifier -Asia 2019 going on in Thailand.
In the match held in Bangkok-based Terdthai Cricket Ground, Nepal posted a target of 127 runs before the opponent team. In reply, Malaysia finished in 92 runs at the loss of seven wickets in all overs. Nepal's Karuna Bhandari and Sarita Magar took two wickets each.

Winning the toss, Nepal chose to bat first and garnered 126 runs at the loss of five wickets. Opening batswoman Sita Magar alone secured 42 runs and captain Rubina Chhetri played with unbeaten 33 runs.
Kajol Shrestha contributed 16 runs; Indu Barma 13 and Neri Thapa made six runs to the Nepali team's aggregate runs.
Nepal is meeting Thailand in its second match on February 21, the UAE on February 22, Hong Kong on February 24, China on February 25 and Kuwait on February 27.
The winner of match based on the round-robin will be qualified to play in the ICC Women T20 Qualifier. RSS
