KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that he has taken his third term as a big ordeal by fire.
Addressing the 42nd Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Handicrafts Association held in Lalitpur on Friday, PM Dahal said that he considers his third term of prime ministership as “a big ordeal by fire”, adding that the political parties must pass the people's test. He has said that his third term is all about “good works and nothing bad”. He said he will not allow it to be done.
"This time good work will be done, speeches will be reduced as much as possible, and more work will be done, neither bad works will be done nor allowed to be done," he said, " I have come as the 44th Prime Minister, and it’s my third time, with that determination. I consider it a great ordeal by fire. There is a lot of disappointment and dissatisfaction among the people.”
Utopian ordeal
He said that Bagmati Province has already started the work of promoting the handicraft industry and said that the government will promote the handicraft sector in all the seven provinces in the coming days.
"I thank Bagmati Province for the establishment of the Handicraft Village," he said, "I will make all preparations to expand this program to all seven provinces; the field of handicrafts is a leading sector of development."
He expressed his belief that if the handicraft sector can be properly promoted, the serious trade imbalance situation of the country can be balanced and it will also help to increase the foreign exchange reserves.
Dahal said, "If this sector is properly promoted, we can bring the country's serious trade imbalance situation to balance. It will also help to increase foreign exchange reserves. Handicrafts can be a source of potential for us.”
Prime Minister Dahal also said that it is not possible for the government to solve the problems in the economy without taking the private sector into confidence. He said that there has been a political change and now he will strive to transform it into an economic revolution and economic prosperity.
