I asked Indian PM Modi to resolve border disputes during my visit to India: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU, June 5: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that he has seriously requested Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resolve the border issue between Nepal and India through established diplomatic mechanisms.

KATHMANDU, June 5: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that he has seriously requested Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resolve the border issue between Nepal and India through established diplomatic mechanisms.


Prime Minister Dahal said this while informing the parliament about his four-day official visit to India on Monday.

Prime Minister Dahal also claimed that it was the first time that Indian Prime Minister Modi had a clear view on the border issue that all existing problems including the border between the two countries would be resolved.


Prime Minister Dahal also said that he considered the statement by Indian Prime Minister Modi on the occasion of the joint press meeting to resolve the border issue as a positive statement. He also mentioned that he had a serious discussion with Indian Prime Minister Modi about the border issue.


Prime Minister Dahal said, "There was a serious discussion on border issues during the meeting. I have earnestly requested the Prime Minister of India to resolve the border issue through established diplomatic mechanisms. Prime Minister Modi has also made it clear during the joint press meet that all existing problems including the border will be resolved. After a long time, this is the first and positive expression from the Indian Prime Minister to have a clear idea about the border issue.”


Prime Minister Dahal also informed the House of Representatives (HoR) that Indian Prime Minister Modi has said that he will be serious about solving the border problem.
