Creta was launched in India in the third week of July and received more than 16,000 bookings within a month of its launch, according to company officials.
"We are preparing to launch Creta in the second week of September," Awashis Ojha, senior brand manager of Laxmi Intercontinental, told Republica, adding. "We are trying to launch the vehicle as early as possible because of the overwhelming inquiries from Nepali customers."
Stating that price of Creta is likely to srart from Rs 4 million, Ojha said Creta will strengthen Hyundai's market share and position in compact SUV segment in Nepal."
Creta will compete with Ford EcoSport, among other compact SUVs, available in Nepal.
According to company officials, the new SUV comes in three variants -- 1.4L U2 CRDi, 1.6L dual VTVT petrol engine and 1.6L U2VGT CRDi diesel engine with six-speed manual transmission. It features 'Hive Body Structure' for driving sensitivity and stability. The SUV comes with 190mm ground clearance and 2,590mm wheelbase.
Creta features impressive interior with ergonomic design, Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), Door Scuff Plates to the front and rear doors, rear defogger and wiper to clean the mist on the rear glass during inclement weather condition, driver seat height adjust, rear package tray, seat back pocket, among other features, according to a press release issued by the committee.
Focusing on safety and stability, the new Creta comes with six airbags, anti-lock brake system (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Rear Parking Assist System, Follow Me Headlamp, anti-pinch power window, reverse parking camera and height adjustable seat belt anchor to ensure enhanced safety and accommodate drivers of different size and shape.
"Other features of the compact SUV include Rear Parking Sensors (RPS), Audio Video Navigation (AVN), premium sound system, cluster ionizer, day-night mirror, adjustable front and rear headrest, Fully Automatic Temperature Control (FATC), luggage lamp, luggage net, and tilt steering all of which adds to driving convenience," the release added.
