KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Floods following incessant rain have damaged the Ridham Small Hydropower Project in Humla district of Nepal. The flood on Friday has heavily damaged the 130 meters of pipeline of the hydropower project.
A team of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force under the coordination of Ganesh Acharya, Chief District Officer of Humla, has inspected the flood-hit area. Acharya said that the possibility of repairing the infrastructure and producing electricity before Dashain is very low.
Humla is currently deprived of electricity. The lack of electricity has also disrupted communication services in many settlements of the region.
