One killed due to gunfire

HUMLA, Oct 21: A person was killed when he came under gunfire by another man to drive away a troop of monkeys at an apple orchard at Ripa of Sarkegaad rural municipality-2 in the district on Friday. The victim is 28-year-old Surendra Karki of Ripa. 

Rangamal Mahatara, 40, had fired shots from his muzzle-loader to drive away monkeys at his apple farm. But the gunshot hit Karki who happened to be there grazing his cattle. Karki died on the way to a local health post. 

Mahatara has been arrested and he has been brought to the District Police Office at Simkot for necessary action, police said. RSS
