It helps if your job is related to your study choice
If you are working in a bank while pursuing an MBA degree in finance, you will perhaps enjoy both your study and work process. Because these two are interrelated, you will feel that both deserve your time and attention equally, and you won't resent either if you have to make a choice. You also won't feel as if attending classes is a chore and this degree will help advance your career.
Time management
This is an important point to note. Make a timetable and stick to it so that your day goes smoothly. You are a busy person because you work and study, and if you are late for one thing, you are likely to be late for the other things you have lined up for that day.
Try to attend all the classes
As a working person, your classes are either in the early mornings or after work hours. Sometimes you might be tempted to skip classes altogether because you are so tired after the day's work or because you want to sleep a few hours more. But remember that attending lectures adds to your study materials and it makes studying them easier. You can also save time studying later because you're more likely to remember what you have learnt by attending lectures.
Keep in touch with your classmates and teachers
If it's not possible to attend classes faithfully every day, keep yourself updated with notes. Ask your friends and classmates for help. Maintain regular contact with them so that you can be in touch with college news, exams schedules, and get class notes. Being on good terms with your teachers will also be a plus point for you. They will be more inclined to listen to you and even help you out.
Ask your family for help
You need the support of your family if you are to succeed in anything you do. So ask your family to help you out here, too. Make sure they know not to disturb you during your study hours. Request your siblings to help out with the chores so that you are not bothered by it.
Focus while doing your task at hand
It helps if you focus on your immediate task at hand. If you are at work then concentrate on your assignment and try to finish it within the allotted time. When you are in your office, your assignments should be the most important thing on your to-do list. Don't get sidetracked by too much of socializing with colleagues or use too much of your time surfing the Internet aimlessly. Your priority should be your work. The same goes for your studies. When you're at class, concentrate on your teacher and your books. Paying attention in class reduces your need to study significantly. If interaction is encouraged then engage in discussions and ask questions whenever necessary. You will retain whatever is taught in a much
easier way than cramming for exams at the last minute.
