KATHMANDU, April 8:: A sub-committee under the parliamentary Committee on Commerce, Industries and Consumer Welfare Relation has said that the price of the Chinese induction stoves set by the government is unclear and unrealistic. The stoves were provided by the Chinese government on grants during the blockade imposed by India last year.

The sub-committee has directed the Secretary of the Ministry of Supplies (MoS) to attend a meeting to discuss the pricing mechanism. Officials of the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Supplies and National Trading Ltd, who were involved in fixing the price of the stove, have also been invited to attend the meeting. The sub-committee has also directed the MoS secretary to furnish the grant agreement signed with the Chinese government in the meeting. The Chinese government had provided 11,300 units of induction stoves to Nepal during the blockade.
