Fate of 80 high court judges uncertain
After conducting hearing on Suresh Pradhan, Dr Ram Swartha Ray, Dr Chandra Kant Poudel and Surendra Kumar Karki, the committee decided to meet on Thursday morning to discuss on whether to approve their nomination or not.
Pradhan, Ray, Poudel and Karki have been proposed ambassadors to UK, Germany, India and France, respectively. The committee also conducted hearing on Dr Sukhdev Shah who has been proposed for Nepal’s ambassador to USA. Shah’s nomination has drawn controversy after it was revealed that he is a Green Card holder.
“Since there are many issues to be discussed, this meeting will continue tomorrow morning,” said committee’s chair KB Gurung.
Shah, Pradhan and Ray presented their clarifications on complaints filed against their nomination. No complaint had been lodged against Poudel and Karki’s nomination.
