House meeting rescheduled for second time, next meeting at 5 pm

KATHAMANDU, May 23: Following the obstruction by the lawmakers of CPN-UML, the meeting of Legislative-Parliament has been postponed for the second time on Tuesday.

Speaker Onsari Gharti has called the meeting for 5 pm in the evening. 

The lawmakers of the main opposition UML have protested against the government decision to add the number of local-level units.

The party will continue to obstruct the activities of the House if the government will not correct its decision, said lawmaker Surendra Pandey of UML.

With this, the address of the Prime Minister to the House has become uncertain.

Meanwhile, the meeting of major leaders of three big parties is underway in New Baneshwore to reach on the agreement to ease the house activities. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress Presdient Sher Bahadur Deuba and senior leaders of UML are present in the meeting.

However, CPN-UML chairperson KP Sharma Oli is not attending the meeting.
