House meet adjourned amid opposition protest

kATHMANDU, Feb 5: The meeting of Legislature-Parliament has been adjourned, again, on Sunday amid obstruction by opposition lawmakers over the controversial government decision to legalize land deals carried out by Maoists during the armed conflict.



Nepali Congress lawmaker Jeevan Shrestha and CPN-UML´s Tham Maya Thapa aired their views at today´s House meeting, demanding that the government withdraw its decision to legalize the land transactions carried out by the then ´people´s government´ during the insurgency.



The next House meeting is scheduled for February 8.
