POKHARA, Sept 5: A house caught fire when residents tried to set fire to a hornet nest last night at Shantipatan of Pokhara – Lekhnath Metropolitan City – 6.
The hornets' hive was built outside the window of a two – storey house belonging to one Krishna Bahadur Kunwar. He house owner sought the help of manual workers living in a nearby house to set fire to the nest when the fire spread at 12:15 am, according to Ward Police Office, Baidam.
The fire spread to the upper floor and destroyed furniture and materials causing a loss of around Rs 1.6 million.
The fire was taken under control at 1 am by the firefighters, police, armed police personnel and local residents. The fire did not inflict any human casualties.
Police confiscate hashish and marijuana
Meanwhile, District Police Office, Kaski's Narcotics Control Bureau arrested five persons in possession of hashish and marijuana from various locations of Pokhara on Monday.
The police are carrying out further investigation on the arrested individuals for necessary action. RSS
