Hotels and restaurants in Kathmandu to remain open until 11 pm

The District Hotel Business Association (Kathmandu Chapter) had been raising concerns that police intervention forced businesses to close early, undermining customer satisfaction and business operations.

KATHMANDU, May 23: Hotels and restaurants in Kathmandu will now be allowed to operate until 11 pm.


The Kathmandu District Administration Office (KDAO) made this decision following continuous demands from hotel owners. The KDAO stated that the decision was made to promote tourist convenience and create a business-friendly environment.

The District Hotel Business Association (Kathmandu Chapter) had been raising concerns that police intervention forced businesses to close early, undermining customer satisfaction and business operations.


Although the association requested permission to operate overnight, the administration granted permission only until 11 pm. This move is expected to make a significant contribution to tourism and employment.
