Hotel discounts, special programs to mark World Tourism Day

KATHMANDU, Sept 27: All hotels under Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) across the country are offering 25 percent discount on food to mark the 32nd World Tourism Day (WTD) on Wednesday.



With the slogan Tourism - Linking Culture, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) along with other tourism related associations have unveiled different programs for the day.[break]



Tourism entrepreneurs said besides the association, individual hotels and restaurants are also organizing promotional activities along with offering attractive discounts.

 

Member hotels under Tara Gaon Development Board (TGDB) are offering 50 percent discount on accommodation and 20 percent discount on food. The offer which began from September 23 will last till September 27. Hyatt Hotel and outlet of Tara Gaon Resort located in Nagarkot, Pokhara and Kakani are offering  discounts. Similarly, first two tourists arriving at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) will get free accommodation and food provided by TGDB.



Nepal Air Sports Association (NASA) has said that it will provide free paragliding for two tourists and ultra flight for a person on WTD.



Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal (REBAN), Pokhara, is organizing street festival in Pokhara. Thamel Street Carnival is going to be another attraction of WTD. The event being organized by Thamel Tourism Development Committee (TTDC) will feature indigenous fashion show and cultural program.



Similarly, Association for Tourism is welcoming first three foreign tourists at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) with gift hampers. Similarly, local organizations in association with the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoTCA) and Nepal Tourism Board are welcoming first three foreign tourists at different entry points like Kakadbhitta, Guddachauki and Belahiya.



Bhaktapur Municipality is giving free entry to the first group of tourists in Bhaktapur Dubar Square and welcoming the first group of tourists with a cultural march-past, gift hampers and souvenirs.



Tourist Guide Association of Nepal (TURGAN) has offered free sight-seeing service in first half of the day on Wednesday.



Royal Enfield Tour of Nepal will udertake the journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara on that day.
