KATHMANDU, Jan 6: Syakar Trading Company (STC), the sole authorized distributor of Honda two-wheelers for Nepal, on Sunday launched Dream Yuga, a 110cc bike, in the domestic market.

Dream Yuga, an entry level bike in the commuter segment from Honda, was jointly launched by Saurabh Jyoti, chairman of STC, Suhrid Jyoti, vice chairman of STC, and Pradeep Chaudhary, manager of sales and marketing at Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI).[break]

The bike is powered by a 109cc air-cooled 4 stroke spark ignition (SI) engine with impressive exhaust and delivers a mileage of 72 km per liter as per Honda´s test conditions. It also features body colored grab rail, decent stylish graphics, realistic meter console and tempting alloy wheels.

“The bike is perfect for Nepali road conditions and fuel quality,” said Saurabh. “Since the bike has won various awards within few months of its launch in India, we are hopeful it will gain popularity in a relatively short period of time in Nepali market.”

The bike delivers the maximum performance in the mass segment of 9 Bhp @ 7500 rpm and a torque of 8.91 Nm @ 5500 rpm. “The bike´s engine is equipped with several cutting edge technologies, which ensures great mileage at a very affordable price,” the company said.

“Along with the style and economy, Dream Yuga is especially designed for Asian market, keeping in mind practical commuting needs of the region. The features like long seat, full gear lever and full chain case make Dream Yuga a perfect vehicle to fulfill the daily commuting needs as it steers easily through narrow lanes,” said Saurabh.

The bike is equipped with a telescopic fork front suspension and 5 step adjustable rear suspensions which can be adjusted depending on the road and load conditions. The bike comes with both self and electric start options and uses drum brakes both in the front and the rear. The bike has a fuel tank capacity of 8 liters.

The tubeless tires, viscous air filter and maintenance-free battery in Dream Yuga significantly increase the durability of the bike. The light weight yet sturdy frame, longer suspension stroke and relaxed riding posture of the bike enhance the comfort while riding.

Customers can get the bike in five different colors: monsoon grey metallic, alpha red metallic, maple brown metallic, force silver metallic, and black. According to the company, the bike is available at an introductory price of Rs 161,900.
