Home TV beginning service from mid-Aug

KATHMANDU, July 28: Home TV is bringing into operation Nepal´s first Direct to Home (DTH) service by the second week of August. It has completed all necessary requirements, including satellite test of its system, and is all prepared for the launch.



Issuing a press statement Wednesday, the company said Minister for Information and Communications Shankar Pokharel recently observed operations of Home TV expressed the ministry´s commitment to make DTH service more effective. [break]



“The Ministry will be strictly working towards the elimination of DTH systems operating illegally and will promote domestic DTH service in a more effective way,” Pokharel said on the occasion, according to the statement.



Home TV, which is broadcasting 80 channels, is coming into operation by installing its earth station hub at Bhainsepati of Lalitpur. The company at present is conducting training for dealers and technicians from across the country. It is coming into operation after completing Uplink hub and TWTA satellite test.



“We believe that through our service we will be able to link people across the nation and contribute towards betterment of the nation,” the statement added.
