KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Rabi Lamichhane, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs and Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party, has said that parliament has not been able to carry out the necessary work on issues such as education and health, which are of direct concern to the common people.
He said this while speaking in support of Speaker candidate Devraj Ghimire in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday. He said that the government has failed to make necessary policies regarding education and health. He said that the Speaker should rise above party matters and fulfill his role fairly in the coming days.
Home Minister Lamichhane expressed his commitment that the Ministry of Home Affairs will not go beyond the law. Nepali Congress MP Ramhari Khatiwada refuted the fact that the absconding person was in parliament and asked to demand his arrest. He asked not to pressurize the ministry when it’s working according to the law.
Home Minister Lamichhane asked the MPs to let Ghimire, the Speaker candidate from CPN-UML, win the post in the House of Representatives.
