KATHMANDU, Dec 2: The Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday suspended two Superintendent of Police (SPs) and one inspector on charge of their involvement in financial irregularities.
According to sources, SPs Bimal Basnet, Rameshwor Yadav and inspector Megh Raj Prasad Chaurasiya have been accused of being involved in collecting money from offices under them while serving as chiefs of Karnali Province Traffic Police Office in Surkhet.
SPs Basnet, Yadav and inspector Chaurasiya have been suspended as per the recommendation of the Nepal Police headquarters.
Basanta Kunwar, spokesperson for the Nepal Police, said the police headquarters has formed a probe panel under the leadership of SSP Umesh Ranjitkar to further investigate the case.
