KATHMANDU, April 21: The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday issued a mandamus order to hold election of Free Students Union (FSU) within three months.

Stating that FSU poll was not held since six years, a joint bench of Chief Justice Ram Kumar Prasad Shah and Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana ordered the government and Tribhuvan University (TU) to hold the polls within three months.

The apex court was responding to the writ filed by Bimal Prasad Pokharel of All Nepal National Free Student Union-Sixth (ANNFSU-Sixth) last year.
