Hindu general gathering commences in Damauli

DAMAULI, Oct 18: A World Omkar and Hindu General Gathering Festival has kicked off at local Byasgufa area from today, with the objective of introducing the birthplace of Ved Vyas to the world. 

Ved Vyas is the ancient seer and the composer of the Hindu scriptures, The Veda. 
The festival is organized by the Ved Anuyayi Pratisthan Nepal, Tanahun and it will run until November 16. 

Inaugurating the festival, president of the World Hindu Federation Nepal, Dr. Ram Chandra Adhikari underscored the need for unity to protect the Sanatana Hindu religion. 

“All Hindus should be united and work for the protection and preservation of the Sanatana Hindu ism which is under attack from all sides,” he said. 

National Assembly member Prakash Pantha, Gandaki provincial assembly member Dobate BK, the Tanahu District Coordination Committee chief Shanti Raman Wagley, Byas Municipality mayor Baikuntha Neupane spoke on promoting the Byas area as one of the main places of religious tourism. 

Pratisthan Tanahu chapter chair Krishna Kanta Kafle presided over the program. 

Various discourses on The Veda and its significance are to be held as part of the festival. RSS
