Highways obstructed, vehicles vandalized protesting murder

ITAHARI, Sept 27:
Protesting the murder of Faizal Ahmed, the general secretary of Islami Sangh Nepal (ISN), members of Muslim communities have vandalized four vehicles in Inaruwa on Tuesday.



The irate protesters beat up a truck driver during the course of protest and have been chanting slogans against Home Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar.[break]



Ahmed, who was shot dead in broad daylight at Ghantaghar in the capital on Monday, will be buried in his hometown, Sunsari today. He was declared brought dead upon arrival at Bir Hospital.



Members of various Muslim communities have thronged the place to pay their last tribute to the mortal body of Ahmed.



Ahmed was the general secretary of ISN from past four years.



Earlier, two highways had been obstructed, protesting the murder.



The strike enforcers disrupted the East-West Highway and Duhabi-Sonapur road section of the Koshi Highway.



The assailants are still at large.
