High Court Tulsipur issues first-ever order to provincial govt

BANKE, Nov 30: The High Court Tulsipur, Nepalgunj has ordered first of its kind order to the provincial government: ban the renewal of public vehicles that are older than 20 years and ensure development projects are environmentally friendly.

BANKE, Nov 30: The High Court Tulsipur, Nepalgunj has issued first of its kind order to the provincial government: ban the renewal of public vehicles that are older than 20 years and ensure development projects are environmentally friendly.  


The order was issued in the name of Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Province 5; the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment and the Traffic Police, Banke, all of which were presented as defendants in the writ filed by three advocates including Bishwajeet Tiwari.

A division bench comprising Prem Raj Karki and Shanti Singh Thapa gave the order in a public concern writ filed by the advocates seeking a ban on vehicles older than 20 years and ensuring development activities do not affect the environment. 


The High Court has ordered government bodies to strictly ensure that all public vehicles comply with the pollution test as per the law.   RSS
