HIB reduces ticket fees after implementing the co-payment system

KATHMANDU, Jan 18: After implementing the co-payment system in the health insurance program, the Health Insurance Board (HIB) has reduced the OPD and emergency ticket fees.

KATHMANDU, Jan 18: After implementing the co-payment system in the health insurance program, the Health Insurance Board (HIB) has reduced the OPD and emergency ticket fees.


HIB has fixed a ticket fee of Rs 50 in OPD and Rs 100 in emergency with effect from January 22. Earlier, the ticket fee for a health insurance facility was Rs 200 for OPD and Rs 400 for emergency.

The co-payment system in health insurance has been implemented since January 15. The HIB has reduced the ticket fee after making provisions for the insured to pay 10 percent of the treatment amount.


The HIB has changed the provision that three months should be completed to get services after joining the health insurance program and maintained it at two months.
