DOLPA, Jan 17: Normal life in Dolpa has been affected due to rain-triggered heavy snowfall since Thursday.
Dolpa receives heaviest snowfall in decades: Locals
This is the second snowfall of this season. Amid chilly weather, the temperature has gone down hitting the daily lives hard. Following the incessant rainfall that started on Wednesday evening, various places in the district including Majfal, Jufal, Tipla, Thala Raha, Sun, Rang, Pahada, Liku, Liku Chun, Dapu Tripurakot, Jagdula, and Mudkechula have been whitened out.
Earlier, Dolpa witnessed snowfall in the second week of December. However, it was a light one and didn't last for a longer time. Locals of residents consider the snowfall during January (Nepali month of Magh) to be a good omen. Snowfall at this time helps the crops including wheat, barley, and vegetables like potatoes and garlic thrive better.
