KATHMANDU, Aug 9: Nepal is currently experiencing the influence of Monsoon wind as well as the low-pressure system developed in and around the northern part of Bangladesh. Monsoon low pressure is also located to the northern area closer to Nepal
There is normal to complete change in Koshi, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces and light to moderate rain in one or two places of the remaining provinces in the morning, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM), Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).
Probability of heavy rainfall in three provinces
According to the MFD, there is a chance of light to moderate rain in some places of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and few places in the rest of the province this afternoon. According to the DHM, there is also a possibility of heavy rain with thunderstorms at one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
There is a possibility of light to moderate rain at some places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and few places in the rest of the province, while there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces tonight.
According to the MFD, there is also a possibility of windstorms in a few places in Koshi and Madhesh provinces.
The officials of DHM have requested everyone to take necessary precautions to avoid inconvenience, risk or damage to public health, agriculture, daily life, road and air transport as there may be disasters such as river water level rise, floods, landslides, soil erosion and wind storm due to rainfall.
