KATHMANDU, July 3: The country is under the influence of monsoon. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), light to moderate rain is taking place at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces in the morning.

Partly cloudy skies are said to prevail across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain at some places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and a few places in the remaining provinces. Also, there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at one or two places in Koshi and Madhesh provinces, according to MFD.

Similarly, there will be partial to normal showers in the country tonight. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain at some places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and a few places in the remaining provinces. Also, there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at one or two places in Koshi, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces. There is also a possibility of storms in a few places in Terai of Bagmati and Koshi provinces including Madhesh province.

As there is a possibility of heavy rain including thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi and Madhesh provinces, road and air transport, health, agriculture, tourism and other areas may be affected, the MFD said there is risk of floods and landslides and has requested everyone to take necessary precautions to avoid any risk or damage.
