KATHMANDU, Aug 19: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has stated that due to monsoon winds, the country is currently experiencing partly to mostly cloudy conditions.
On Monday, the low-pressure line of the monsoon remains near its average position. In the morning, light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected in one or two places across all provinces, with partly to mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon.
Heavy rainfall likely in some provinces today
The DHM reported the possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning in many places across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in some places in Madhesh Province. Additionally, there is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two locations within each province.
Monday night is expected to remain partly to mostly cloudy across the country, with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning likely in some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in a few places in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces. The DHM also noted the possibility of heavy rain during the night in one or two places in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
